• Which letter is “mīm”, the “m” sound? Hint: a small loop with a tail going down.
• Which letter is “lām”, the “l” sound? Hint: a tall stroke ending in a hook to the left.
• Which letter is “kāf”, the “k” sound? Hint: a small “s”-shaped mark inside.
• Which letter is “wāw”, the “w” sound (or a long “ū”)? Hint: a small loop at the top.
• Which letter is “hāʾ”, the light “h” in “house”? Hint: a round shape, no dot.
• ص (ṣād) and ض (ḍād) have the same shape: only the dot above tells them apart.
